Alright, it’s a drug. It does have it’s dark side, but new studies show that the benefits of coffee outweigh its dangers.
The most favourite beverage of America actually does something good for your health and the scary part of it is, the more you drink of it, the better. Here’s the list:
- Diabetes. Harvard has been analyzing 126,000 people for over 18 years and it turns out that having more than six cups of coffee a day reduces the risk of diabetes by 54% for men and 30% for women. Now seriously, who drinks more than six cups of coffee a day?
- Parkinson. At least six independent studies show that people who drink coffee on a regular basis reduce the chance to get Parkinson’s desease by 80%.
- Colon Cancer. Two cups a day reduce the risk of getting colon cancer by 25%.
- Liver cirrhosis. The chance of dying of liver cirrhosis drops by 80%.
- Gallstones. The risk of gallstones is reduced by half.
- Smoking and Drinking. It’s been proven that it’s healthy to drink a lot of coffee if you’re a heavy drinker & smoker, since coffee protects you against heart deseases and liver damage. (Real bodytweakers don’t smoke though
) - Athletic performance. High ammounts of caffeine make java a powerful enhancer of endurence when it comes to athletic activites. Caffeine in coffee is a controlled substance by the Olympic Games Comittee, due to it’s strong effects on ones physical conditions. Caffeine helps your brain and nervous system to block fatigue signals and push that little bit further. And we all know that that little bit is what makes the big difference. There’s even a theory that caffeine has an effect on the muscles making theit contractions more powerful.
- Concentration. Everybody knows that coffee makes you more alert and awake. You can focus better at your work and your mental performance improves. You are more dynamic and devoted to your projects. Many people feel more secure and self-confident (like real leaders do). Maybe it’ll help you with that promotion you’ve been waiting for?
- Depression. Studies in Brazil show that drinking coffee helps to deal with depression. Now, I’m not so sure about this one.
Coffee isn’t for everyone though. In some people it can increase nervousness, hand trembling, heartbeat and cholesterol levels. Studies show though that the vast majority of healthy people won’t notice any significant adverse effects.
Note: A real bodytweaker drinks at least one cup of coffee a day
